Mental Health First Aid

Innacare offers short mental health support courses for anyone who may need to respond to a mental health crisis.

 

  • Mental Health Support for First Responders – A nationally recognized course teaching how to recognize early signs of mental distress, provide initial support, and communicate effectively in a crisis.

  • Youth Mental Health – A non-accredited course focused on understanding and supporting the mental health of adolescents.

  • Workplace Mental Health – A non-accredited course designed to help employees and managers identify and respond to mental health concerns in a professional environment.

 

Courses are flexible and can be delivered online, face-to-face, or at your workplace.

Mental Health Courses

Mental Health Support for First Responders

 

This course is designed for anyone who might be the first to notice or respond to someone experiencing a mental health challenge—such as community workers, bystanders, family, or colleagues.

It teaches:

 

  • How to recognize early signs of mental health issues

  • How to respond safely and calmly in a crisis

  • Basic communication skills and support strategies

  • When and how to escalate or refer to professional help

 

It provides a nationally recognized qualification and is often delivered in a single day or through flexible scheduling.

 

Youth Mental Health

 

This course focuses on supporting young people with mental health concerns. It is ideal for those working with or around youth, including:

 

  • Teachers

  • Coaches

  • Parents

  • Peer mentors

 

Key topics include:

 

  • Understanding common youth mental health challenges

  • Recognising behaviour changes and emotional distress

  • Communicating effectively and safely with young people

  • Creating supportive environments

 

Workplace Mental Health

 

Designed to create safer, more supportive work environments, this course helps team leaders, managers, and coworkers:

 

  • Identify signs of mental distress at work

  • Understand stress, burnout, and workplace-related mental health risks

  • Offer peer support and encourage help-seeking behaviours

  • Improve team wellbeing through simple changes and resources

 

It’s also often paired with the first responder course and adapted to suit different industries.

The benefit of our service is that we will come to your location to provide training for your staff, community group, sport or social club or other needs, in a space that is your own and comfortable for you.


For our mobile training option we do not have a roster of scheduled dates for training, we will be happy to work with you within your availability and our staffing schedules.
